Day 12: The end of the Summer Blending Trip

Day 12 (Lord’s Day 3rd July 2011)
We ended the blending trip on Day 12 with a sweet time with the church in Irvine, going with our hospitality to the Lord’s table meeting (which meant we went to different districts). Following that, we had pizza at the B’s, had a little bit of time to fellowship and pray about the upcoming Summer Training, and then the group split again either shop, swim or rest at home. At this point, three of our group were returning back to the UK, so it was also goodbye to them.

I took the opportunity to rest, particularly as my brief bout of flu had left me with a croaky voice for the whole trip (C and I still did our best to join in with all the singing in the vans however :)). Some of the B’s hospitality were working on a jigsaw puzzle, and a brother was playing hymns on the piano. Although I couldn’t join in with the singing, it was very pleasant and restful.

When we gathered together again, we said goodbye to most of the brothers, and the rest of us drove to Anaheim and had dinner at Cheesecake Factory, exercising our spirit to enjoy the Lord as we went :) Dinner finished late, and then we parted ways with the sisters who were staying with a family during the Summer Training, and the rest of us were dropped at the FTTA training centre to get our hospitality assignments.

And that was it for our blending trip!

In case you missed any of the previous days, here are links to them all:

Day 1: “Perfection” and Imperfection (LA: UCLA)
Day 2: We love the church-life! (LA: USC)

Day 7: Reigning over the rain (Berkeley)
Day 8: Finding real gold (San Francisco)
Day 9: A fresh start, every day (SF to Berkeley to Santa Clarita)
Day 10: Chilling out (together) (Santa Clarita/Valencia to Irvine)
Day 11: These are they (Anaheim and Irvine)
Day 12: Praise the Lord! (Irvine and Anaheim)

And seeing as I don’t have any good pictures for Day 12, here are some of the group pictures taken by the other saints during the course of our blending trip:

The following week was filled with the rich unveiling of Christ as revealed and the church as typified in the Psalms. I thoroughly enjoyed the Summer Training – all the messages, study times, fellowship, and even the testing! Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.
