Verses Sheets for Winter Training 2014: Exodus (1)

January 9th, 2015 Categories: eating... 3 comments

With the winter video training starting this evening, here are the verse sheets I have prepared to go along with the messages. I find these helpful in the messages and study times to quickly see the verses for each point together. I also find that asking why each verse supports that part of the outline helps me to see that point in the Word more myself.

Over the past few years, I have received feedback from others that they find these helpful too, which is why I make them available here. Some saints like to print them out, others like to look at the electronic copy on their device, but however you use it, I hope it is helpful to you too.

These verse sheets are for the Crystallization-study of Exodus (1) and all verses are taken from the Holy Bible Recovery Version. In order to conserve some space for those who like to print these, I haven’t quoted whole chapters, so you will need to look those up.

In the past, preparing these sheets has been quite a tedious process, however this year I tried to automate some parts of it… did you know you can do regular expression replacements in MS Word? I do now! So on the plus side, these are all available now instead of spread out over the next couple of weeks. However, this also means there is more room for errors (I already found some chunks of missing verses… hmm, one of my regular expressions must have been wrong), and I won’t notice them till I use these sheets myself. If you spot any errors, please drop me an email or leave a comment so I can correct it for others who may come across this later.

As an alternative (or supplement) to these verse sheets, I recommend purchasing the iSilo version of this HWMR from LSM as the outlines are included in it. Then if you also have the Electronic Edition of the Holy Bible Recovery Version you can click on the verse references to go straight to where they are in the Bible, and also have easy access to related footnotes and cross references and the context of where those verses are. Of course you can use a regular printed Bible :) but time is precious both in the messages and study times!

Thank you Lord, for so many tools to dive into the Bible, the Word of God! Lord, we give this training to You, open Your heart more to us and constitute us with Your Word!

PS: This “series” of posts seem to be the most regular on this blog… given that I really haven’t posted much in the past couple of years. So you can easily find the other verse sheets for past trainings just by looking at my recent posts (or the automatically generated related posts). We’ll see if I can make it a bit harder to find this post this time next year by posting a lot in 2015…

The Bible is God’s Word!

In preparation for this year’s Winter School of Truth, I’ve been following the study group guidelines for the serving one’s and helpers. To prep for my study time tomorrow, I was just reading chapters 5 and 6 from Lesson Book 6 – The Bible, which goes into twelve proofs that the Bible is the Word of God.

I appreciated the introduction at the beginning that reminded me that we believe not because of the outward proofs but because of a living touch with God the Spirit by praying in our spirit with the Word. However, although we do not need the outward proof to believe, it is still good for us to know a few crucial facts, both for ourselves and those we come into contact with. But this is not so we can debate with them, but so we can know assuredly and also present these proofs to those seeking to know more about the Bible.

Anyway, it was so enjoyable to get into these twelve proofs! No other book has stood the same test of time, no other book has affected man so dynamically, and there is no other way by which we could know God and His eternal plan. No one else but God could have written the Bible, and He has sovereignly arranged so much so we could have the Bible and know it is His Word. Thank You Lord for giving us the Bible!

For more details you’ll have to read the chapters yourselves (you can find it on ministrybooks.org under “Lesson Book, Level 6: The Bible—The Word of God”), but I’ll just list the twelve proofs that the Bible is the Word of God!

  1. The proof by logic
  2. The proof by its completion
  3. The proof by its prophecies
  4. The proof by its power
  5. The proof by people’s love toward the Bible
  6. The scientific proof
  7. The proof by the history of the Jewish people
  8. The proof by its indestructibility
  9. The proof by its spread during persecution
  10. The proof by the word of the Lord and other writers of the Bible
  11. The proof by ancient documents
  12. The proof by archaeology

Being at the Teachers Training and getting into this again now, I am being infused with a fresh love for the Bible! So I’d recommend getting into the messages at the prep.truthschool.eu website, even if you won’t be serving at the WST. These messages are really encouraging, enlightening and supplying, and each one is just 20-30 minutes long :) It’s probably also not too late to join a study group, whether you plan to be at the WST or not (FYI the deadline to register for WST is in less than 24 hours!).

The Lord and His lovers suffered much to preserve the Bible for thousands of years so that we, the lovers of the Lord, may have this great gift. We need to treasure the Bible and study it as the most precious thing we have.

Thank You Lord for the Bible!

Verses Sheets for Winter Training 2013: Genesis (2)

January 10th, 2014 Categories: eating... 2 comments

Tonight is the start of the winter video training in London, and as in previous years I am preparing verse sheets to go along with the training outlines. I find these useful to quickly look up the verses as the brothers are speaking the messages, and to get into the verse references during the study times. I hope you find them useful too, and am making them available here for those who do.

These verse sheets are for the Crystallization-study of Genesis (2), and I will update this post as I go along. As a little note, in order to conserve space I tend not to quote whole chapters that are referenced, so you will need to look those ones up. Oh, and if you spot any mistakes, please let me know so I can correct them. Thanks!

Verses Sheets for Winter Training 2012: Daniel and Zechariah

January 11th, 2013 Categories: eating... 6 comments

Last winter I made verse sheets for the Winter Training 2011: Psalms (2) to help in my study for the video training. These verse sheets seemed to be very helpful for others also, and so I am sharing the verse sheets I’m making for the Crystallization-study of Daniel and Zechariah and will be posting them here as I go along. We start our video training here in London tonight :)

All verses are taken from the Holy Bible Recovery Version.

Day 3: A Taste of Louisiana

I wrote this at the end of my time in the USA this summer (although some students continued on to the College Training), on my way home. It was a wonderful time, and the Summer Training was also so refreshing and supplying. Hopefully I still remember enough of the Blending Trip (and have enough time) to share it with you in the coming days.

Day 3 (Thursday 21 June 2012)
Hey Y’all and I woke on Day 3 and were cherished with a lovely breakfast prepared by our hosts. We had sausages and eggs and biscuits (the American kind) and sweet melon – yum. After that we heading to the church in Baton Rouge meeting hall to meet all the other saints. Sir Wattsalot had acquired a new football – a real football that is, i.e. soccer ball for those from those parts :) – and those who spoke or sung the verse for the day had the honour of signing it with their new southern names.

Our verses for the day were Colossians 3:16-17. Anyone still remember it? :)

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to God.

And whatever you do in word or in deed, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Swamp Exploration

The first activity of the day was to head out to Jean Lafitte, a national historical park and reserve, a.k.a. a swamp! We were joined by some local saints, and had an enjoyable time reading and singing on the journey to the swamp.

When we arrived, a park ranger gave us the safety orientation. I learnt two lessons:

  • I should not dangle my feet or hands over the boardwalk…
…because they are the size of alligator prey (and gators are prone to latch on)
  • I should not wander off the trails…
…because someone did that and was lost for four days (but at least he was found)

Very important lessons indeed! We then watched a short video about the Mississippi River, the swamps, and the lifestyle in the area, and then we were on our own to explore the swamps ourselves.
