I'm enjoying…

Enoch walked with God

I do hope that I could be such a person, doing nothing and being nothing, just walking with the Lord until the day I am taken to be with Him.

Having heard that the upcoming Summer Training is going to be on the book of Genesis, and having received a lot of encouragement recently to get into the Life-studies in a regular way, I’ve decided to pause my sporadic reading of the New Testament Life-studies (but I have made it to Luke now!) and start with Genesis. Let’s see how far I can get before the Summer Training starts!

So, also in attempt to get back into posting (sorry for my silence), I thought I’d share from my enjoyment of message one. In this message, the first part was on how the Bible is a wonderful book. And it really is! It is the breath of God, it is spirit and life, and it mainly reveals life to us. Thank You Lord, for the Bible.

Finally and Lastingly Satisfied!

I have been stirred back into blog-action by having just watched a wonderful video made by Bibles for America. It is called The God-shaped Vacuum, and poses the following question:

Have you ever felt unsatisfied, let down, or even empty after you got what you thought would make you happy?

You are not alone.

I know I’ve had this feeling before, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I highly recommend watching the video, it is only 2:50 minutes, and explains why we feel this way, and how we can be finally and lastingly satisfied. Watch it here:

And on this same subject, I’d also like to point you to this great post from The Joy of Germany: Does God have an address? It is so wonderful that we can know God’s address. Once we know where to find Him, we don’t have to wander around and hope to accidentally “bump into Him”… we can go directly to where He is located. He’s in our spirit!

Well, it’s nice to break the silence by sharing some online gems like this. If you have any great stuff to share with me, feel free to post in the comments or drop me a line somehow.

And hopefully it won’t be long before I’m back to tell you about my past four months :)

A quick update from snowy London

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to make a super quick post to let you know I haven’t forgotten about you. Even though it has been almost a month since I last made a post!

Since coming back from seeing my family in Miami (in early December), I’ve been super duper busy – and maybe by mid April things will slow down a little again. Or maybe not!

The other main reason I’ve not posted anything in so long is that my laptop screen died at the beginning of January, meaning I’ve not been able to get online at home (as I am a lo-tech geek without a smart phone or other such devices – and my Palm doesn’t see my home wireless). But I’ve actually been liking my zero access to the internet at home… it means that in the evenings I have had much more time to read the Bible and the ministry, and to go to bed early! I wish I had more time to post about my enjoyment in the Word and the ministry – and maybe next week I’ll try to set aside some time to make a post.

There have also been many events going on, and while I’m here maybe I’ll give you a quick tour. The bookshop opened in central London! I went a couple of times, and it is so nice. If you ever come through London, make it one of your priorities to visit! It is at 110 Pentonville Road, walking distance from King’s Cross St. Pancras and Angel tube station. If I lived nearer, I’d definitely be a regular, like many of the students in central London, and like the office workers working in the neighbourhood. This coming Saturday will be the first of monthly University Trainings taking place there. Wonderful!

FTTA and FTTXB trainees have just left (yesterday) after their two weeks here in Europe for gospel trips. They visited a number of countries in Europe in different teams, and and I thoroughly enjoyed the reports they gave on Wednesday morning. The saints here are now preparing for FTTL to restart on Monday, with trainees already beginning to return. And we’ve had a lot of snow! I’ll attach a couple of pictures below of the fun some of us sisters had on Lord’s day :)

Hopefully I’ll be back soon!

Note (05/05/12): I wrote this back in February, and didn’t get around to posting it then, I think because I wanted to add the pictures! Maybe I should try to just get something posted more regularly, regardless of whether I make it look “pretty” or not. Although having said that, I now have a phone that will make it much easier to upload pictures :)

Learning to swim

I enjoyed this one sentence from today’s Holy Word for Morning Revival, and thought I would quickly share it with you :)

The best way for us to swim in the river is to put our trust in the flow of the river, forget our own efforts, and let the flow carry us along.

And I just was reminded that the flow is the Spirit, and we can trust in this wonderful, all-inclusive, all-sufficient, all-fitting, life-giving and bountifully-supplying Spirit, Who is waiting just to fill us and meet our every need!

1. We work together with God by a life,
We work together with God by a life:

(Brothers) Able to fit
(Sisters) All situations,
(Brothers) Able to endure
(Sisters) Any kind of treatment,
(All) To accept any kind of environment;
(Brothers) All-fitting life!

2. Able to work
In any condition,
To take any kind
Of opportunity
For the carrying out of our ministry;
All-fitting life!

We work together with God by a life,
We work together with God by a life:
All-fitting life.

We have the right! (and the first Lord’s table in Greenwich!)

Today was such an awesome day! It certainly wasn’t a waste of time at all! I actually went to two Lord’s table meetings today. The first was in district 9 of the church in London. We had our regular meeting this morning, and it was so full of life, life, life, and we were all being encouraged to just eat, eat, eat!

Then the second meeting was in Greenwich, for the first Lord’s table in district 11 of the church in London! Praaaaise the Lord! Many saints came together for this new beginning from all across London and nearby cities. It was glorious! Maybe you can tell I am a little excited :) But it was just awesome!
