There is a church in Rome!

The following report was written on 17th June 2012, as I was returning home from a glorious weekend in the church in Rome. Hallelujah! There were 561 saints from 29 countries gathered together this weekend to participate in the Italian Conference and the Resumption of the Lord’s Table in Rome. Praise the Lord!

Day 7: Reigning over the rain

Day 7 (Tuesday 28th June 2011)
We started Day 7 by again gathering for breakfast at the Fresno meeting hall, and then it was time to move on out. Our next destination was: Berkeley! The sky got greyer and greyer as we travelled north, till eventually it was pouring down with rain when we arrived at the Berkeley meeting hall. But despite the rain I was so glad to visit, especially as this was one of the places I hadn’t been to before, and because I knew a few sisters from the area who had travelled through Europe in the past few years. I guess you could say the rain made us feel quite at home… just like today! (Torrential downpours in July? What is wrong with the world?) Anyway, if you are from the US, visiting Berkeley is a small preparation for visiting Europe… it even looks a little similar, reminded me of some of the cities up north like Manchester, Liverpool, etc.

Madrid in May

May 26th, 2011 Categories: blending..., enjoying... 7 comments

Last weekend I finally fulfilled a promise to visit the saints in Madrid, and had a really wonderful time :) LK and I took a long weekend and headed out to sunny Spain, where we were cherished by the care of the saints, saw the sights of the city, experienced the Spanish way of life, and ate lots of yummy food! You’ll be able to see all that if you click through to view the whole post via the link below. But before you do that, here is one thing I appreciate a sister sharing with us soon after we arrived:

Visiting saints have a responsibility to share their Christ with the local saints.

You could think of it like the circulation in the human body – the flow bringing a fresh supply each time it circulates – a picture of the spiritual fellowship in the Body of Christ. So, during the trip I enjoyed touching the Lord a little every morning, a little bit more throughout the day, learning to fellowship with the sister I travelled with, and bringing my enjoyment to the church meeting on the Lord’s day. And if you know me, you know that’s not such an easy thing to do :) But it made my “holiday” a thousand times more worthwhile!

And with that said, you can now go ahead and click through to catch a glimpse of my weekend in Madrid. Enjoy!
